Parish Magazine 1931

This copy of the Parish Magazine from March 1931, No. 315, Vol. XXVII, was donated to the group by Deborah Horne.

This issue was 16 pages long, and it states it was circulated in March and Septmeber supporting the Society for Promoting Christian Knowledge (S.P.C.K.), founded in 1698. As such this issue had 4 pages about the locality and two of these were advertisements. SPCK is today primarily an independent Christian publisher. 

 The remaining articles included ‘A Boy’s Sermon’ from Zonnebloem College, Capetown, article by Rev. E. A. Down entitled ‘Glorified in the Saints,’ ‘Evening in Jerusalem’ by Sister Mary Carter, ‘The Temple Church and the Lawyers’ by Margaret L. Woods. ‘Church Life To-day: Some points of current interest,’ and some continuing stories.
