The Girls Friendly Society is a national charity and was formed in 1875.
It was originally established to address, through Christianvalues, the problems of working-class unmarried girls and young women who wished to better themselves.
The main organisation in the early 2000s, moved to a secular model supporting girls and young women of all religions and none.
